Vision and Values
OUR SCHOOL VISION | |
We create an inclusive, friendly, safe and engaging learning environment which is grounded in our Christian values, enabling children to navigate obstacles, fulfil their potential and extend their horizons.
We value all members of our school community and encourage their individual talents and personalities so that each can shine in their own way.
OUR SCHOOL VALUES: Our School values were chosen by our school community and are firmly rooted in faith. Compassion, Hope, Community. "Be kind, be the best you can, work and grow together".
COMPASSION: Be kind "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Ephesians 4:32
Compassion is a core value for our church school because God the Father so loved the world that he sent his son, Jesus, to show us how to care for each other.
In 1 Corinthians v 13, Paul tells us that "Love is patient and kind". Jesus showed us to love everyone through the story of the Good Samaritan. Jesus proved his love and compassion for us when he died on the cross, so that we can be forgiven. We show compassion to each other by small acts of kindness and through encouraging each other with kind words, remembering that God loves us and we can love ourselves and others. We will let our love and compassion shine every day.
HOPE: Be the best you can ‘Let your light shine before others so that they see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in Heaven.’ Matthew 5:16
Hope is a core value for our church school because God sent his Holy Spirit to put hope in our hearts; hope that the world can be a better place.
In Philippians 4: 13, Paul tells us that ‘I can do all things through Him who strengthens me,’ and the prophet Isaiah told us that, ‘They who hope in the Lord will soar on wings like eagles.’ Through the story of the Prodigal Son, Jesus gave us hope that, even when we make mistakes, if God is in our hearts, we will never be alone and all is not lost.
We show hope by trying to be the best we can be in everything we do. From tiny beginnings, we hope that we can all make changes for the better, improving ourselves, our community and the world in which we live.
COMMUNITY: Work and grow together ‘All the believers were in one heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.’ Acts 4:32
Community is a core value for our church school because Jesus prays that all his church followers may be ‘perfectly one’ as he and the Father are one. Through Him, Christians become sons and daughters of God and therefore brothers and sisters of each other. We are all members of the same family. We think of our school community as a family.
In 1 Corinthians 12:24-26, we hear that God had combined the members of the body…..so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices.
We show community by spending time together; we have fun; we learn; we worship; we serve, we share; we support each other. Just like a real family does.
