Welcome to Green Class – Year 4
Miss Bethan Eastwood
Miss Sarah Harper
1-1 Teaching Assistant
Mrs Jo Faulkner
Hello from Miss Eastwood
My name is Miss Eastwood and I am delighted to be teaching the fantastic Green Class this year. This is my third year in Green Class and I remain as excited as ever to dive into the range of topics, books, and activities we are set to explore.
Having studied at Bournemouth University and previously worked at a school in Bexhill, I love going to the seaside for some fresh air and irresistible fish and chips on the beach.
Mrs Faulkner, Miss Harper and I are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together in Green Class this year.
Latest Class Updates from Green Class
Term 1 - Speeches
We have been writing speeches, inspired by Greta Thunberg, to persuade the King who banned the dark to unban it. The pictures below are of some who chose to read their speech to the rest of the class.
Term 1 - Stories
To end our work on The King Who Banned the Dark, we have been drafting, editing and publishing our own stories this week. All of our stories have been based on the theme of power.
Term 1 - Fireworks!
Using inspiration from our class text, The King Who Banned the Dark, we experimented with pastels and chalks to create our own version a firework scene.
Term 2 - Art and DT
This term we have been making mod-roc polar bears and Christmas baubles in our Art and DT lessons.
Happy Christmas Green Class!
Term 3 - Starry Night Project
This term, Green Class have been busy with our Starry Night Project. We have taken inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh's painting and created our own versions. We chose from colouring pencils, oil pastels and chalk pastels to get the finish we wanted.
Term 4 - Pizzas!
In D&T this term, we have been making pizzas. We have experimented with different topping combinations and developed our food preparation skills such as grating and cutting. Some of us decided to design traditional savoury pizzas and some designed pizzas with sweet toppings. We made prototypes, then tweaked our designs to improve appearance and taste. Best of all, we were allowed to eat our slice once it had been cooked!
