Science Week - 11th-20th March 2022
As part of Science Week, Year 4 found out that a shark's age and length are related. Green Class decided to conduct their own investigation into the correlation between age and height across pupils in Year 4.
First, we worked out our age in months. We then measured our height and plotted our results on a graph. We plotted other pupils' results too, so that we could see if a pattern could be identified. We found no clear correlation between age and height across pupils in Year 4.
To broaden our test group, we measured the heights and noted the ages of a pupil from Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6. We could see that the Year 2 and Year 5 pupils were almost the same height as some children in Green Class, but the Year 6 pupil was a lot taller - 159cm tall! We discussed that we couldn't make a generalisation based on one pupil from each of the classes, but had lots of fun participating in Science Week!
