Hello from Mrs Simmonds
My name is Mrs Simmonds and I am thrilled to be teaching Orange class here at Hawkhurst this year, for what will be a wonderful fourth year here, for me. I love to help children to develop a positive image of themselves as learners, and to watch as those “lightbulb” moments make their faces light up with a smile. I especially enjoy teaching Maths and English, and I have a keen interest in Science and e-safety.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a Paediatric Cardiac Nurse Specialist at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital for almost 15 years. I have 2 children aged 10 and 12, and a black Labrador called Isla. I love walking and go home to the the Lake District often, as my son and I are walking our way through the Wainwrights!
