Harvest Activities - 09 Oct 2020
Unfortunately the current Covid 19 restrictions mean that there will be no Harvest Festival Service in the Church this year, but that is not to say that we have not been working hard and having fun learning about Harvest and what it means.
In school this week Rainbow Class have been printing with fruits and vegetables. Red Class were inspired by the Harvest fruits and vegetables to make chalk drawings on black paper. Orange Class watched videos about why we bring food in at Harvest time and how food banks help families, before colouring in Harvest food and writing why Harvest is important to everyone. Yellow Class have been thinking about what Harvest means to them and written group poems. Green Class were inspired by the story of ‘The Good Seed’ and used lentils, split peas, pumpkin seeds, fennel seeds and haricot beans to produce collages. Blue Class have written some beautiful Harvest acrostic poems. Violet Class listened to an extract from the ‘Secret Garden’ to inspire their art work using watercolours and collage materials.
We would like to share our work with you in the following video clips.
