Hello from Miss Eastwood
My name is Miss Eastwood and I am the class teacher in Green Class. This year, we are lucky to be joined by Mrs De Simone as our class TA. We have lots of exciting and interesting topics to explore together, from Romans to rainforests. There will also be some school trips and, of course, Swimming in the summer to look forward to!
It is extremely important that Green Class read regularly with an adult at home. We regularly check reading records to make sure children are progressing through our reading scheme and address any issues. Green Class must also complete their weekly Spelling Shed assignments and engage with TT Rockstars as much as possible. It is essential that children learn their times tables up to 12x12 by the end of the year.

Latest Class Updates from Green Class
Term 1
Art
Some of our final pieces:
Forest School
Ben Miller at Saint Ronan's School
We were very lucky to be invited to join children at Saint Ronan's during their visit from Ben Miller. He read an extract from his new book Once Upon a Legend, gave us tips about writing stories and we even asked him some of our own questions. Green Class were brilliantly behaved and super engaged throughout which earnt them a whole class hot chocolate treat at the end of term!
Term 2
Forest School
Unfortunately, Green Class were hit by torrential rain for their forest school session this term.... However, Mrs Paton came to the rescue with some forest themed craft! Take a look at the creatures Green Class created below.
Dogs Trust
We were very lucky to be visited by Phil from the Dogs Trust charity (and his assistant Larry the Labrador). We learnt about how to be safe around dogs and what we can do to make them feel more comfortable.
Class Treat!
Green Class have filled their marble jar and earned a class treat. They chose a pyjama movie afternoon! We hope they feel extra motivated to earn marbles and get their next treat.
Christmas in Green Class
Green Class have enjoyed getting in the Christmas spirit recently. We have created an advent candle wreath, made Christingles and decorated gingerbread people!
Term 3
The Starry Night
Green Class have been looking at Vincent Van Gogh's work this term. They have carefully planned and created their own interpretation of The Starry Night.
Term 4
Port Lympne Reserve
We launched our persuasive writing English unit with a trip to Port Lympne Reserve to gather ideas to inspire our writing. We saw lots of animals in enclosures and even went on the safari ride to see animals in open spaces. We have been discussing the benefits and downsides of zoos all term by composing debates, speeches, persuasive letters and articles. We would like to say a huge thank you to the Dunks Educational Foundation and The Iddenden Trust for their generous donations that helped fund this trip.
Pizzas!
Green Class have been busy designing and making pizzas in DT this term. We are pleased that sweet pizza prototypes were swiftly amended to savoury final products. The children had great fun designing their pizzas, preparing ingredients and of course eating them!
